Six rounds on Oakmont. History of The Canadian Open
This tournament was established by Dudley Do-Right, Swiss golfer Carl Pettersson and The Royal Canadian Golf Association. It was determined that the terrible conflicts that occurred between members of the exclusive Las Vegas Knights County Club during the club's events, was too much tolerate. The Canadian Open was established in hopes that by creating a more friendly environment, it might stop the senseless hooliganism. In many cases wife's girlfriend's and mistress's often joined in the brawl. An embarrassing moment for Royal Canadian Golf Association (RCGA) occured when the original trophy was stolen by an enraged British hooligan, apparently his application for membership into the elite Las Vegas Knights Country Club was denied. |
A new replacement trophy was graciously donated by Governor General of Canada Lord Twiddle the Wittleddinghy.
It is now closely guarded by members of the Canadian mounties |
